Marin County Guidance Now Available for June 29 Phase of Business Reopenings and Activities

Post Date:06/22/2020 5:30 PM

Starting June 29, more indoor-based businesses in Marin County will be allowed to proceed including:

On June 19, the Marin Recovers Industry Advisors released new guidelines for business operators to implement to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Guidance for all industries allowed to proceed beginning June 29 is available on the “Guidelines for Reopening” page of MarinRecovers.com.

In addition, outdoor businesses and activities that may proceed June 29 include campgrounds and RV parks, use of picnic areas, and outdoor-based vehicle gatherings such as drive-in movies. Guidelines for those businesses and activities will be posted to MarinRecovers.com the week of June 22.

Businesses and organizations preparing to reopen in Marin County must complete a Site-Specific Protection Plan (SPP) to define how the business will reopen in a safe and clean manner for patrons and employees. A SPP plan template is available on MarinRecovers.com to guide businesses through the planning process. The template combines state-level guidance published in the California State Resilience Roadmap and local Marin County public health policies, including the current shelter in place order and facial covering requirements.

An overview of business sector reopenings is available on MarinRecovers.com. Businesses and activities are allowed to proceed under the current shelter-in-place order through amendments to the allowable business and allowable activity appendices.

Marin County Public Health staff is constantly monitoring public indicators of COVID-19 to inform future business reopening phases. As the State of California allows for higher-risk activities, Public Health works with industry leaders to develop reopening guidelines that consider the latest COVID-19 activity and special considerations for Marin’s more vulnerable populations.
