The City of Novato is excited to offer a new way to provide input on City topics that matter most to you! Our new eComment feature is an online tool that allows community members to provide public comments on upcoming City Council agenda items from the convenience of an electronic device.

“While our community is always welcome to speak at Council meetings, this new tool, in addition to email or letters, is an opportunity to increase civic engagement by providing an additional way to have a voice on items City Council is considering  without having to attend in person,” said City Manager Adam McGill.

To provide your comments on an upcoming agenda item, visit In the “Upcoming Events” section, click on “eComment”. From here you can review agenda item details, indicate your position on an item or input your comments. Comments are provided to the City Council to review and consider prior to the meeting.

The eComment period opens when the City Council agenda is posted online and closes at 3pm on the day of the meeting. Your comments on agenda items will become part of the official public record and are viewable by the public.

In addition to eComment, the City Council will continue to hear in-person public comment on agenda items during their meetings. Other forms of public comment including emails, phone calls and letters will continue to be accepted and provided to the City Council as received.

Don’t miss out on this new opportunity to get involved and be heard! Sign up to be notified when a City Council agenda is posted online by visiting and selecting the “City Council Meeting" notification category.
