City Council Appoints Police Chief as Acting City Manager
This evening the Novato City Council unanimously appointed Novato Police Chief Adam McGill as the Acting City Manager for the City of Novato, effective immediately. As Acting City Manager, McGill will report to the City Council and supervise all City staff. Adam will also continue in his current role as the Chief of Police.
Mayor Eric Lucan announced, “Adam has proven that he has the leadership skills and community focus needed to maintain and enhance the services provided to Novato residents and businesses and to work effectively with all City staff and the full Council”.
Adam has 28 years of public service experience and has been a California Police Chief for the past ten years, three of which have been in the City of Novato. Adam possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master’s Degree in Emergency Services Administration. He is a Novato resident and proud member of the community.
Councilmember Pat Eklund shared, “We are fortunate to have someone of Adam’s integrity to support the City Council during this transition.”
