District Elections Additional Proposed Draft Maps Now Online
Join the Novato City Council at their May 14, 2019 meeting at 6pm to review new proposed draft district maps and provide your feedback. The City has received sixteen (16) community-submitted proposed district maps to be considered by the City Council. Additionally, one (1) new proposed draft map submitted by the City-contracted demographer, and one (1) proposed map submission from a City Councilmember have been received. These draft maps, along with demographics for each map, are all available for review at novato.org/elections.
At the May 14 meeting, the Council may approve one of the published maps and the sequence of elections for council seats, and they may move to adopt the draft ordinance establishing a by-district election process for districts according to the selected map.
A staff report on district elections will be published as part of the agenda packet for the May 14 City Council meeting and will be available at novato.org/councilagendas by end of day on May 9.
