- Community Parks
Miwok Park is one of our community's favorite parks, and is just one of the many beautiful parks managed by the City of Novato. Miwok Park offers a gorgeous and expansive lawn, perfect for playing volleyball, catch or Frisbee. The park also houses a plethora of picnic tables, which are scattered along the creek to allow for lovely lunchtime views. Miwok Park has a large, shaded playground and a tree-lined walking path that runs along the creek, offering a perfect place for children to play. Speaking of play, Miwok Park also has an area to play horseshoes and bocce ball. The park has ADA accessible restrooms.
The areas of the park that are available to rent only show a fraction of this expansive 38-acre park. The park stretches back into the San Marin neighborhood and has a second entry way on San Miguel Way.

Please understand that your group will not be booked officially until you have received a signed permit and all fees are paid. We ask that you not publicize your event until the signed permit is in your hands. It is your responsibility to review the approval carefully to assure that all information is correct—date, time, location, etc. - and that you understand all park regulations and conditions.
Use and consumption of alcohol in all City parks is allowed only in designated group picnic areas and by permit only. If you wish to have alcoholic beverages at your event, you must be at one of the designated group picnic areas and you must request approval for alcoholic consumption on your park permit application.
Any type of barbeques are not allowed to be brought into any park. Vehicles are not allowed inside parks at anytime.
If you want to bring a jump house into a park, you must first fill out a park application and turn it into one of our Customer Service Centers or fax to (415) 899-8219.

You also have the option of hiring park maintenance staff to arrive prior to your event to assure that your site is in proper order. The fee for this optional service is $175. This is not usually needed for weekday rentals since crews can be called in case of an unforeseen problem. It may be desirable for you to consider this on the weekends since we cannot prevent overnight vandalism or abuse of the parks by those not reserving facilities. Ask our clerical staff for additional information if you are interested.
We hope that you enjoy your experience at the park and would love to hear from you after the event. In the meantime, if you have any questions please call our office at (415) 899-8977.
