A few yards from the center of Hamilton, the Reservoir Hill Vista Trail is a city-maintained trail that leads from a small parking lot on Hamilton Parkway to a lookout post with views to the east, south and north. The trail is only about a mile long, but it's fairly steep at the start. At the halfway point, there's a fantastic view of Hamilton Landing (the hangars) and San Francisco Bay with the city and Mount Diablo in the distance. At the turnaround spot, there are plaques with information about Hamilton Field's history and the wetland restoration effort and views of San Pablo Bay and the Sonoma County hills. There are a few benches along the way that allow for walkers to take breaks, or they're also a great place to enjoy some reading in nature. The trail is a spur of the regional San Francisco Bay Trail, which links to it at the base of the hill.
